Five Stage Advisory Process

Stage 4: Macro-Investment Decisions

Stage 4 is the first stage in the advisory process where a decision to make an investment may result. Once we know whether we want to add to our investments, or alternatively take a more defensive stance the next decision involves how to best achieve this outcome.  This doesn’t mean delving straight into the decision to buy CBA shares or sell BHP shares, we need to take a step back and consider the bigger picture:

  • Do we want to gain exposure to domestic financial firms? or
  • Do we want to reduce our exposure to the resource sector?

With the availability of macro-level investment options, such as Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s), we can often make profitable investment decisions without having to delve into the specifics of individual stock selection.

At JAS Wealth our aim is to translate the tactical asset allocation decisions into real world investment decisions using the simplest means available.
